Swaziland
is a country blessed with great beauty and friendly welcoming people. Being one
nation with one tribe has allowed Swaziland to hold onto traditions and culture
with strength and unity. Pride in the culture and respect for tradition are very
evident and much encouraged.
A peaceful transition
from being a British Protectorate to achieving independence is evident in the
lack of animosity between the peoples living in Swaziland.
Swaziland is not a malaria risk country.
Language
Siswati and English are the official languages
while English is the medium of instruction in all schools and is widely understood.
Currency
Lilangeni
(Emalangeni - plural) is the currency used in Swaziland. It is on a par to the
South African Rand. Rands are accepted currency in Swaziland but Emalangeni are
not accepted in South Africa so change your Emalangeni back to Rand before leaving
the country.
Most Credit cards and travelers cheques are honoured in the Kingdom.
Passports and Visas
All
visitors require valid passports and travel documents. Check with your embassy to see if you require a visa .
